This tumbler (8oz) is perfect in the following ways: size, feel/design, insulation, elegance, and leak-proof lid.
I was disappointed to find that the lid and flap/cap are entirely plastic. The metal sheen is a thin veneer of metalized plastic. After its second use, I could see hairline-fractures on the surface of the flap coming up from the hinge area. More lines have shown up, since.
I did not expect wear and tear to be visible so soon with gentle use. The plastic seems sturdy, but the feel and aesthetics are compromised by this design choice. It works great -- the seal is super tight. But as someone who wants to reduce plastic contamination, I would like to see an improved lid design that uses plastic only where absolutely necessary.
I would still recommend the tumbler. It's beautiful, easy to hold, seals tightly, and keeps a steady temperature. It certainly gets noticed.
